One honorary classmate was laid to rest after more than 30 years of public service, and I encourage all of us to return to the words that U.S. Representative John D. Lewis H’13 offered at our Commencement in May 2013. He recalled a storm shaking his aunt’s shotgun house and advised us: “the wind may blow, the thunder may roll, and the lightning may flash, and the rain may beat on our old house... Call it the American house. Call it the world house. We all live in the same house. Maybe, just maybe, our forefathers and our foremothers all came to this great land in different ships, but we’re all in the same boat now. We’re one people. We’re one family. We’re one house. Stay with the house. Walk with the wind.”  —stephenpnock@gmail.com Posted 2021-02-26
